I am without employment.

I don't actually want to do computer animation anymore. I have a lot of reasons for it. They all boil down to the fact that I don't think I'm any good.

I regret going to school, especially UL, for my bachelor's of art. It feels like a waste because I've never felt like an artist and because I spent 4 years learning hardly anything.

If it didn't cost me anything, I'd go back to school for another degree. I might look into it. I'm just afraid the same thing will happen: learning in 4 years what I could have taught myself from a few books.

I made Zane an Oogie Boogie costume:

And I was Zombie Billy Mays:

And there was another Billy Mays there:

Seriously, what are the chances? He was the live one.

Cartoon I worked on some. A character is in there for a few seconds that is me. lol.

I just made the 3D rollercoaster at the end.

My camera came in last week. I'm still learnin it and stuff. I'm happy so far! It looks like I can record about ~ 2 hours worth of HD video on it.

Here's a full res picture I took at mom's. I'm happy with the detail!

And here's the picture after I photoshopped a little (cause I just had to!).

I think the part I need to most learn is accurate focusing. Sometimes I think they're focused until I zoom in on the computer! They're close, but not perfect. Good lighting helps.

These are two cameras a friend of mine suggested.

The reason I am even considering HD video on a camera instead of a camcorder is because he said it looked *great* on the DSLR.

I've been going through old videos of my family two make into a couple DVDs, and I've realized how important it is to have a camcorder. I also realized how amazing the progression is from 1954 footage through the 70s, 80s, 90s, and current.

I also love the shots you can get from a DSLR camera. I could barely touch that with my old point-and-shoot 2002 Canon Powershot A70 I think it was?

Anyway, if I need to shell out a little over a grand, that's alright. I'll just have to wait a bit longer to get a couple paychecks from my new job. I'm willing to pay more to have something that'll last me a long time and do a really good job.

I brought Zane to the doctor today. He has this large welt on his back that he was afraid might be staph. The doc seemed to think it was an ingrown hair. What sucks most about this whole thing is that Zane's insurance doesn't kick in for one more month.

All the roommate and I have been sick for about a week. I've pretty much gotten over it other than the congestion.

Zane convinced me to get an LCD TV, something I've been wanting for a while. We found a nicely priced Toshiba, and bought it with his 0%-for-one-year finance credit card, and I'm going to pay him back when my tax returns come in. Luckily for me, about a week later Calzone called on me to help them with some website stuff. Julie overpaid me to the point of speechlessness, which helped a lot for the TV.

I have been interning at the LITE Center here in Lafayette for about a month. I really like the place. My job is to make 3D models for two of their VR projects. I'm not sure how secret these things are, so I'll just leave it at that! I'm learning lots of techy stuff about VR, and it's all fairly intimidating and exciting.

My cousin Rhonda got engaged and is getting married in August. Geez! EVERYONE is getting hitched it seems. This is so weird. I haven't even met the guy yet!

The roommates and I started playing Lord of the Rings Online, which is pretty fun. It feels like one of the best put together MMORPG's I've ever played. I think that has a lot to do with relying on all the pre-made lore from Tolkein.
